How to make a shop cabinet with pocket screws for under $50.
At times my small tools would be misplaced and I needed a cabinet to organize my tools but didn't want to spend a lot of money on it. So I want to the hardware store and bought some damage birch plywood for around $15, pick up two 30" hinges $20, then I needed some pocket screws $4. That comes to
$ 39 give or take. So I drew it out and made my cut list, the plans show the size to be 24" x 36". I changed it to a 30" x 36"
#1.The plans listed do not have the all the dimension, I all ready knew what they will be. Cut everything #2 and started drilling the pocket holes #3. The sides will be 3/4" wider than the tops, bottoms and shelves. That is because I didn't want the edge of the plywood showing on the side of the box. Glued the edges and shoot the pocket screws, I used a fence clamp to hold the piece #4. After I finished the three boxes #6, I then hinged the two smaller boxes onto the larger one #7. After the two doors where attached #8. I used a laser level to mark my line and put in two support blocks #9. That is when I realized the cabinet was the only thing in the shop that was level. I used pocket screws on the shelves without glue, so I can change them as needed #11. Some details may be missing , if you have any questions feel free to e-mail.
